Snowed yesterday and last night, it got pretty cold, about 10 degrees I think, roads were snow packed and icy, the OL was on her way to a meeting, wrecked her 4 Runner, hit some guard rail, waiting on a call to go pick her where ever the tow truck is taking her car. SNOW SUCKS :gah:

Like I said in the spring, my wife was offered a Job in Denver with the company she works for. She knows I become a Bitch when it snows.
So she turned the job offer down.
I never want to live where it snows again.

I got no use for snow.
And after all the years workin out in the cold. When I hear folks say they like snow. I pray for their electricity to go off for a month and let them tell me how much they like snow.

Cardboard, we don't rely on electricity because it goes out at least once a month. But we have fireplaces and wood-stoves and endless firewood available. I also have a natural gas heater, and that never seems to run out and is very cheap.

You just don't understand how nice it is sitting in front of the fire on a cold snowy day with some spirits and other beverages, looking out the window as the storm rages. The solitude and beauty of the mountains is unlike anything I've ever experienced.....I don't care how deep the snow gets. And if you plan ahead a little, you won't have to go outside for anything for a week or 2.

We got 12" in town last night.....absolutely beautiful.

My wife is from Sandia Mountain in Albq. Rocky mountains man.
I understand very well about mountains and SNOW.
I'm from Northern Alabama, foothills of the appalachian mountains

I would be stuck in the CAbin. And when I go outside, its COLD.
If its below 50* I do not like it.
Want to be outside all the time.

FLHT, that's what makes Christmas! A few years back, we got 4' dumped overnight on us 2 days before Christmas. Not a single motor vehicle in sight, just horses and sleds for at least a week. We were in heaven!

Not when your not supposed to get even an inch of snow and then all the power is out for a week. We were like snowbound, no lights no power, can't ride the bike, couldn't even get the pickup back up the driveway. Wife wouldn't let me shovel snow, had the open heart surgery to fix the bad valve that year. Shoveled anyway just took it easy. :D

yep, same thing here, suppose to set in for next 4 or 5 days. I am off until Wed after Christmas, but lots of rain and maybe a little snow. Hope next week is better, I should get a couple days off then too. Wheels Through Time is open May through November... worth your time... if you come this way give me a holler...

Bummer, hate to hear that. Driven 4 wheel drives in a lot of weather in a lot of places. If you are out there enough, it gets you, just the way it is. I drive up Old Fort Mtn to get home each evening. It is suppose to be the longest steepest grade in Eastern US. Car and Driver uses it to test towing sometimes. When it snows, is an adventure to get home. 45 minute drive on dry road, have taken 2 plus hours number of times. Keep an AWD car as well as my 4WD truck all the time. ;)

I've already got the HOG Chapter sec'y. staying here, but I'm sure we can come up with something before then. We're only 1 1/2 hrs away.

Anybody want to come to this, I'll make sure you've got a place to stay.

Just catching up on this. We are expecting our first brown Chirstmas in probably 20 years, maybe more. Had one snow so far this year, it melted in a week. Last weekend it hit 55 degrees, bikes were everywhere!! Not expecting anything untill after New Years for sure,,, suhweeeeet !!!! Lovin it!! Ofcourse, that long range forecast can take a **** in the blink of an eye,, but still good to hear. That said, 2 years ago we got clobbered with snow over Christmas. Just so happened, all the kids were here, had plenty of food and drink, played games, listened to music, watched the snow and had a great time!! Guess it's all in what you do with it !!! Don't mind winter, just so it doesn't last tooooo long !!! Merry Christmas all you biker trash !!

Not in the 70s this end of state, but finally quit raining today. Sun in and out, got up to about 50. Just got back from couple hours riding. Low 40s by the time I got home, but was nice. Had a great afternoon... took twisties down the mtn to Lake Lure and back up a different route. Nobody on the road, had it mostly to myself. :D

yep, thought about you and the pictures you have posted when I posted this reply. This time last year, we had snow and more on the way. 4WD went out on my truck (actuator) and had to dig out the drive way and move 4 cars of those snowed in with us day after Christmas so I could get to my AWD car that was blocked in. Big difference in one year. That was not normal for us, nor is this warm weather. BUT, I will take it, very lucky. Looks like I might get a few more days of riding in while I am off. Can't ride 50 weeks a year here, but can ride 12 months, ifin you can stand a little cold. :)
