LOL..It wouldn't have a chance to collapse under the snow...The wind would turn it into a pile of firewood and land in my neighbors yard....Little breezy here last night with wind gusts from 90-130 Km/h(55-80MPH)....
The Newfs really get hammered with winter storms and high winds....

You sunshine guys suck. I mean that in a loving way. Its like -10 here, 2 foot of snow on the ground. When it warms up then for us who live on dirt roads it'll be unpassable mud season for a couple weeks until that thaws out. Then have to be conscious of the deluge of salt on the roads and which usually taked significant April showers to get rid of can wreak havoc on your bikes aluminum if left unattended...don't ask me how I know. What was I thinking when I moved.....oh yeah it was just a short hop, skip and a jump to the Candian border, lol.:)

I'm thinking of riding to our Road Captain class today but it's really really cold right now at 29. Brrrr.
One good thing they don't do here is Salt the roads. They will put a de-icer on some of the real hilly roads like one by our place. If it snows then they use sand.

I keep seeing posts of you guys riding in at or just below freezing temps, do you not worry about the hardening of the rubber tire compound not gripping the road well? I've had tires slip and skip in the cold, not good in a turn. "Merican rubber must be more durable. I darn sure know your roads are better!

I doubt those riders have them but they do offer a soft rubber gripping tire. They are expensive and don't last long. Buells came stock with them in 1996 anyways.

It don't get that cold here. Couple road captains who didn't have to be there today went for a ride and went towards Vernonia OR today and got into ice on the roads. Nobody went down but they turned around and went back to the dealership. I came down from my place this morning headed into the meeting (had to teach part of today's class) and hit a big section of ice in a corner. Glad I drove the car as it went sideways but was able to keep it under control.

It might get close to 60 today, then the rest of the week will suck: snow & below freezing temps once again. Yesterday decided to try and cut my seat spring bungs off the bike and my shop apron caught fire. Holy smoke, Batman!

You need a leather apron! Or a welding jacket. Years ago had a piece of slag go down my shirt and bounce along, letting gravity help it burn through my clothes until it came to rest on my man parts. Ouch! Fun to rub lotion on, though.

Oh, it was exciting - putting the farr out, I mean! Really sorry to have ruined my "You Can't Beat Our Meat" apron. Bought it from a market we frequented in Santa Barbara when we lived there. Place has closed since then, I've heard.

    Yeah, I'll find a leather apron somewhere . . .
