I am glad that you made a decision. :D I hope that you enjoy riding your new scoot. All that matters is that you are on two wheels and the wind is on the knee's.

I've been laughing over that one all day now! My whole body hurts! Sometimes, even the Big Guy has a bad day. Thanks Charlie....I needed that.

The styling of the Vision is so ugly that they think it accounted for at least 80% loss in sales. So what do they do when they have a clean design like the Cross Country? Give it a whale of an ugly trunk and GoldWing-ugly square side panels. GEEZ! Even the girl in the photos is laughing.

Victory might have some good ideas, but they need to fire the stylists and go find some high school kid to scribble a new plan for them. Otherwise, they will go the way of the "futuristic Edsel".

I sent that to some Goldwing riders I know.:D

Alex, I believe Arlen Ness was a contributor in the design. I have heard he has been involved in some of there other designs.

Yes I know. So's his 2 sons. That's why I said to get rid of the designers. They've been closely involved with Victory for several years, and their designs are rather off-the-wall and tasteless in my opinion.

Victory even gave Arlen a free Cross Country to customize for publicity purposes, and it was so god-awful putrid ugly when he was done with it, that both his sons and the camera crew openly made fun of it. It truly looked ridiculous, and the bike was quickly buried. Well, what do you expect for a guy that uses a spatula to spread his talent. Ha!

    Willy G. is still laughing.

More like a butter knife. I will always like a scoot that has more traditional styling over some of these newer monstrosities. I feel that the ugliest feature on most of them is the motor.

I'm with you Josh. The bikes these days seem to want to look like they came out of Star Wars. Probably the kids that grew up with Star Wars are now the designers. A buddy got himself one of those 6 cylinder Beemers. God aweful fast and full of all kinds of features. But it looks like a camel with saddle bags. The whole design is just plain weird. The saddlebags stick out about 4 feet and are way up in the air. The tail trunk is als way up and hanging way off the back. The tank is a BIG hump (camel). He loves it. brags about it all the time. But it just doesn't look like a motorcycle to me. Another thing; lately (around here anyway) it seems most riders want to look like they are on the Dakar or Baja. All the square boxes (saddlebags??) dual purpose bikes, lots of driving lamps and riding suits that look like they are on safari. I guess that is the new CHIC for riders. I think BMW started it with the twin cyclinder on/off road bikes.
However, I am glad that two-wheeling is going strong. The more of us out there the better off we are.

The new BMW 1600 is another design that leaves me gagging. Honestly, it looks like all the parts came from different bikes--nothing fits close. They go out of their way to (over)style them so radically that they will look like sci-fi junk in a couple years. Techno-clutter must be in these days.

Even if it was a good machine somewhere under there, I could never brag about that one. Guess I'm getting more traditional every year I see these new monstrosities.
