Chuck, Cowboy, that's exactly why I didn't think earbuds would be a good idea, but I'm willing to try it once.

I Would Be Distracted By Anything In My Ears Interfering With My Hearing Of The Traffic, especially Emergency Vehicles. The Radio On My Bike Is A 100 Watt System And Plenty Loud Enough At Any Speed And It Doesn't Distract Me. The Intercom On The Other Hand Can Divert Your Attention To Your Passenger Instead Of Your Surroundings. My Little Girl Has Very Poor Timing When She Speaks On The Headset And It Is Usually "daddy! Look!!.i Have Had To Train Myself To Just Say Yes I See It.it Would Be Ashame To Kill Us Both Because She Wanted Me To See An Airplane,a Bird,cows/horses,a Car She Liked Or Anything That Attracts Her Attention.she Is Really Relaxed On The Back, waving At Drivers, getting The Truckers To Blow Their Horns, etc. You Can Get The Idea. I Am Curious As To Why A Bike With A Radio/cb/gps/cd Player Would Not Have Stereo Speakers. Oh,by The Way The Gps Can Be Very Distracting If You Are Not Careful.you Do Adjust To All The Gadgets With Practice And Experience.

Got the Zumo 550 on my bike. I can use my perifical vision to glance at it every now and then. I have my Razr phone bluetoothed into the zumo.
I notised a friednd calling yesterday when I was running at normal speeds. But I have nothing to communicate with while riding. I stopped and called him to hear him tell me he burn't a hole in his rear piston on his 107 build.
When I was running late I didn't see Chucktx calling and I was hammering it trying to git 35 miles down the road to his house. Never glanced down to see the unit.
When we was riding as a group yesterday I seen the road up ahead make a 90* right, I put my emergency flashers on, and the folks in the front didn't notise it as fast and had a litte of a hard time watchin for it, But I was trying to alert the folks behind me to beware and not run over me.. I'm the day dreamer anyway lookin at how beautiful mother nature and all the birds and animals are.
The old lady stares at the thing some now too. When I git rich I'm gonna git a set of head phones and a speaker to go in my Nolan N102 helment so I can make it bluetooth and if somebody calls I can touch the Icon on the screen and answer. I will also be able to hear the person giving directions on the Zumo if I have a route to follow. But I'm not going to communicate with the old lady.
I have Nuvi 350 in my van when I run jobs that helps me find address that I've used for over 3 yrs. So I do feel right at home with a GPS unit.
Personally I like my Zumo on my bike.

I love listening to music when I ride, or even a ballgame on my Sirius Radio, especially on long rides. I don't however..listen to anything while riding around town. Only on the open road where it's safer.
