Got a set of forks from a 2000 Heritage to swap out...my bud was telling me I needed to change the top tree for them to fit...I said I didn't....so he bet me a box of beer that I did have to...I checked the Shovel parts catalog,my Evo 87-90 parts book and my '03 Touring Parts Book...the tube caps have the same part number for the '79FLH the '90 Heritage and the '03 King...45838-77...looks like my buddy is going to owe me a box of beer:D

At Rob's used Harley parts, you'll have to talk with them on the phone for pricing, etc. You may end up talking to a character called "English Jim" who seems to be pretty knowledgeable. They will send you pictures via email of whatever it is you are buying from them.

Wow, only 36k and those piston look terrible. Since it's a cop bike maybe a lot of idling??

Thanks chuck, it my buddy's(Keith) garage 30'X30' with a 15'X20" paint booth...we used to turn a lot of rebuilds/hop ups and custom paint work outta there until I got hurt, now even routine maintenance is a struggle...good thing I have good friends/brothers with the skills to help me out..:D

Piston's are not all that bad...last year when it was apart there was a bit of carbon build up...cleaned the pistons and hooked up a pre programed Fuel Moto EFI Tuner for last years cam swap/hybrid upgrade...by the look of the pistons it was a little rich until I switched pipes from the V&H Ovals to the Kerker/Supertrapp slip ons then it leaned out a bit...what we could see was wear on the cylinder walls, not bad enough that it would need OS pistons,a hone and ring job would clean it up...but they're going anyway...
I already got a new map from Fuel Moto for the new build...only scary thing to me is I'm not sure I have enough 'putor skills to upload the new map to the tuner(times like this,I miss my carb)

It really isn't that hard to change the map. I've done it to the FuelMoto Power Commander. Go to the PC website they have the directions too.

Checked out the PC site...thanks fatboy, it doesn't look too bad...
Yeah eieio4tn it is a good place to work...got parts for the Shovel, street stalker front fender, tubes and sliders from a 2000 Heritage and a twinkie front caliper...it's definitely going to be rewired...what's there works but it's a mess...the Shovel's going to be the most work but the engine clutch and tranny are fine...just chassis and electrical ....

No I didn't...I was thinking about it but didn't bother...my '90 Heritage didn't look as bad at 90,000 miles as this one at 36,000 especially the cylinder wall wear, just did a hone and installed standard bore Ross 10.5:1 pistons and it was cranking 190lbs on both cylinders....
