I liked it because of the blackened cases. Had I never got married I would still have it. It was a good enough 1 up bike.

And that old girl poses nice for pics. Thanks for showing it. Was 83 last year for the Shovelhead? I'm thinking Evo debut was 84? or 85?

Cold but sunny day today, just above freezing. Guess I'll take out the battery and begin to remove the tins. Sent Cowboy some chips and coin for a tank he had, was up last night thinking colors and tank badges... I can tell I'm gettin the bug early this year!

I just need to throw a tarp over the old girl. Tank is full and she's on a battery tender.....now if the sun happens to come out one day, I'll reverse that process expeditiously, lol.

Got an Email from my local HD dealer, apparently tires are on sale, 50% off in stock tires. I bought two. That saved me maybe $250 versus buying in the spring. Bought some bar and shield emblems off Ebay, 50 ish.

Good deal there...Is that Toys for Big Boys?
Did they also adopt the "If you didn't buy them here, we won't install them" practice??

Yep. Toys. I asked if they were gonna $&*$ me on the labour rate in the spring or if the records would show I purchased them there, and I was told that they have a reduced labor rate from mid November until Feb. Also, if I bring em in just the wheels they could do them up for dirt cheap. Cowboy just sent me a msg. that he has shipped me a tank (Thank you Cowboy!), so things are proceeding pretty good. Makes me wonder what is going to go wrong.
So far I allowed $600 for new tin set and am at around $350ish, still need a front fender, but they aren't too expensive, I figured $600 for new tires mounted and am at a wee bit above $250, but not yet mounted, and seat, forward controls, paint, and carb stuff left to buy. Under budget and a bit ahead of target so far.

There is a couple choices on the market for fender, but I want a stock look so I'm just going to ebay an O.E replacement. I think most any Narrow glide fender will work, but I don't want to find out I'm wrong, so I'm looking for and 04-o6 from a 19'wheel equipped bike.
