    My pistol is at my side all day and my 40 is in the night stand all night. Both are loaded with a round in the chamber. Under my bed is a 12 gauge assault shotgun without a round in the chamber. If they break in I want them to hear the sound of a 12 gauge action as the last thing they hear.

    I thought Texas was a free state, what you mean you can't open carry!
    I can in Oregon except in Portland but don't go there and if I do it's concealed with a round in the chamber. I do however carry concealed most places as who wants to advertise. Talked to a cop at the coast one time and he said you can carry open hear. He was carrying a full size 1911.

    So do you carry the kimber unloaded chamber with full mag and safety on?
