Yer suppose to do the pushups on yer fingertips.
I used to have one of Charles Atlas workout manuals when I was young.
You start on 5 fingers. then 4 fingers. then 3 fingers then yer thumb and index finger then you do pushups on yer thumbs. It allows you to be able to take yer thumb and jab somebody and hurt them if you git in a fight.
    Don't ask me how I know .......

That would be too much for JB man.

Wait a minute that wasn't Charles Atlas that was Joe Weider.

When I was a kid I lived this stuff. Then in the 70's I got into martial arts for the training. Martial arts was much, much harder. The Karate and Aikido both.
And I still got high blood pressure and colestrol from not eating right.

When I was a kid Arnold Schwartzers was on his coverof Joe Weiders magazines if I remember right.

I'd probably break my thumbs if I tried that! Reminds me of the movie "The Presidio" where Sean Connery beats the hell out of some huge guy with just ONE thumb!

When I had a trainer, he had me do the stretching after each exercise.

He is having me stretch at the end as well, but my muscles are really tight. when I was younger I was so much more active so the need to actually stretch was less important. Now that I m older, I am learning that I need to do it so it is more of a matter of learning how to stretch. :D

Dude, it wasn't because you were more active when you were younger that you didn't need to stretch - it was that you were YOUNGER! :roflmao:

Since I'm almost 20 years older and hobbling around in a knee brace (criminy, I hurt it DOVE hunting :banghead:- not even deer season yet here!:witsend:), I figure I may as well share the pain!

P.S. I won't bring up the Vikings, as that may hijack the thread.......

    yep that is the truth,

best start building muscle and eating protein
your metabo is dropping faster than Obamas job plan...

It' l continue to drop, get a testosterone check
when you do next blood test, lowT will hurt
performance in a lot of rooms besides weights.

Check out advocare really helps with work
outs, buddys son put on 20 pounds after starting
it, he plays D1 basketball and couldnt' gain weight
or build strength with daily workouts until Advocare

I am starting a different diet that promotes muscle mass and works with the metabo as well. I am not into any kind of synthetic fixes. I am sure I will be ok, I am not sure that I have to worry about not being able to gain muscle mass, I am only 15% body fat now... I will get there.. :D

Today I really got a good workout as my regiment is really starting to take shape. Today I worked out for two hours and am ready to go back tonight with Hot Rider and finish it out. I really think that it was a good idea to hire a Personal Trainer, even if it is for a short time, the information that he has provided me is more valuable than what I paid!

I can really see the difference in my body. Not only from not smoking, but also from getting back into lifting, eating what one may call properly, and of course the heart exercises. I have had people at work already comment as they can see changes in my attitude and of course physical appearance as well can I. I give myself another three months and I feel that I will be in the physical shape that I want be in. Something to look forward to I guess, but I enjoy it all the same.

Although I cannot change the course of the plan that the man upstairs holds for me, but I do not wish to just sit and allow myself decay any longer. If I want a life of what I perceive as "good health," then I must take action, it just won't happen on its own. As I get older, the more I realize that it takes greater determination to achieve certain things. For me, staying in shape is an easy thing to avoid. However, as I am getting back into the routine that I once was committed to, I find it joyful to be in the gym being proactive and watching the transformation. It's kind of like the feeling I got when I first bought my ride and then taking it apart and transforming it into something that I AM PROUD OF!!!:D Not a feeling in the world like one of accomplishment..:D

    Don't you Agree???
