Maybe that lady should have settled for a simple tattoo like this one.

Ouch. Now that had to hurt.

I got a fairly large set of Harley wings in the middle of my back when I was 19 and drunk. I made a bad decision with regards to the "artist" (using the term loosely). Got it reworked once at Big Joe's in New York City - or maybe it was Mount Vernon or thereabouts. I think he's in Yonkers now. Anyway, it still wasn't good, plus it had my first husbands name on it. :banghead:

About 10 years later, I got the name covered up and tried to have it fixed up a little more. Keep in mind, this was not a small tattoo. Anything done on it was at least 2 hours worth of work. Still hated it.

After I moved to Colorado, I decided to do the laser removal. I didn't expect it to disappear completely. I just wanted to be able to cover it up. Words cannot describe how much it hurt. Child birth was a walk in the park, and I did that totally without drugs. Not only did it hurt, but the area blisters and oozes and bleeds and it's the most disgusting and painful recovery process. It takes over a month to heal. Did that three times. Then I had no money and had to wait until I could afford a cover up.

It's not 100% done. Color was left out in most of it so we could work the design into the tattoos I have on my shoulder and across the top of my back. I'm really happy with it, but it was almost 30 years of hating it before I got it to where I don't have to hide it.

The new tattoo picture was after my first 2 hour visit for the cover up. I'll try to find another picture of the final product. The second pic was after a laser treatment.
