The pneumonia shot is not a cure just a preventative help, next time wear some rain gear.
I get a flu shot every year now and never got sick from it or the pneumonia shot. I dress warm and stay dry when I ride. If its raining hard if I'm gonna go for a ride I won't go either. Not stupid I ain't gonna push the envelope but do carry rain gear with me when on the road.

You're smart not riding in rain if you can help it. I pushed the envelope a little too much this last January. Finished a PGR mission and was heading home. Started to rain a little but no big deal. But it kept getting worse the farther east I went. But I kept clipping along at 70 mph anyway. Then I drove into an absolute downpour. Could not even see the handle bars so I started to back off. That's the last thing I remember until I woke up in pain. Turns out there just happened to be a sharp right turn at the top of this little hill I was on. I must have done a pretty good job of trying to slow down and control things cause it looks like if I didn't I would have gone straight into a barbed wire fence. Six weeks in the hospital, two weeks of intense rehab, four months of wheel chair and as soon as I could walk again I wanted to ride. So before the doc even released me to do things I normally do, I rode home on the bike I now have. But believe me, I now watch the weather and if I get caught I watch my speed. Don't really want to go through that again. I'm even thinking of a trike now cause I'm just not the same but I'll be darned if I'll give up riding!

Good for you HogCowboy, never give up. First thing I asked the heart Surgeon after my open heart surgery way how soon I can ride. Boy did I get a dirty look. Was told 12 weeks but in 8 weeks I was back on the bike. Got told I looked like a ghost but I was still riding. My Cardiologist she just rolled her eyes when I told her that. I'm like you if I can't ride the two wheel bike anymore I'll be on a trike.

Ever go riding in South America? While in Peru, it rained for 14 days straight! I couldn't wait for it to stop, so I left with all my rain gear on (even had plastic bags covering handlebars and boots) and still got soaked through in an hour. But it was a warm rain.
