Today while going stir crazy again, I was watching the "History" channel. There was a very interesting show on "Modern Marvels" called "World-shaking Crashes". It was about the study of vehicle crashes from race cars to sky divers including a good emphasis on motorcycles. A company called ExPonent studies crashes and possible ways of making people safer. Their studies led to the Goldwing airbag. They played video of it and man it really works on front end crashes which are far and away the most prevalent of biker crashes. The one statistic that got me was this; approximately half of all licensed bikers are over 40 years old. AND approximately half of all biker fatalities are over 40 years old. So there goes the myth that the young dudes are the major fatalities on bikes.

We had our taxes done yesterday and this year we were both required to sign a goubermint form saying we have health insurance (which we do) and we are aware of consequences of fraud... I have no problem but with this but have no idea how they would check on it as they are so inept to begin with...I assume all states are doing this? I think the only way they would find out is if you ended up in the hospital and you had no insurance...

Myself, maddog, Olbill, olbob and big jim meant up at 10 AM at the HD dealer for ride up over the Clackamas and to the otherside of the Cascades to the small Town of Detroit.
Myself on my 99 Triumph Trophy and two others were riding their Triumph Tigers (both guys 75 years old) bikes, Maddog on his new to him 08 Yammy FJR and big Jim on his Harley Ultra.
We did good all the way up to the Ripplebrook Ranger Station. We rode up to the headwaters of the Clackamas River where snow should be anywhere from 5-8 feet deep but no snow.
Then unexpectedly with temps at 56 we came to a very shaded area and hit ice. I was following Maddog and all of a sudden the bike is going sideways then back and forth. Stayed off the brakes and managed to gain control but what a pucker factor that is. Tried to...

The 80 series pistols are California legal. The 70 series are not.
Do you know the difference .
Its to my understanding the Sig Compact is a 80 series
I understand the Dan Wesson I just bought is a 70 series. And other custom high end pistols are only 70 series pistols
Do you know the difference ?
