Hi, I'm new to this board. I've got an 03 fxst, carbed with a SE intake, D&D xhp 2 into 1 pipes, and S&S 510 geared cams. I've noticed more upper valve train noise since the cam conversion was done. the gears also make noise but I expected that. the local harley shop says that the noise is normal for these cams. ( they did the work ). I was just wanting to hear from someone else that has geared cams and if they have more tappet noise. Kevin

Who has them on a roadking and how do they sound. I plan on useing the stock headers and just replacing the mufflers-

I am in a pickel. I bought a 2004 VRSCB through the Harley Tech Talk board, (MSN), from a gentleman in Montana. During shipping, the bike got held up in Miami for about an extra week and a half. When it arrived here, I checked it over for damage, and it was fine. However, I waited for a few days until I started it, and the tranny is making noise. Sounds like it's grinding things up inside. I've driven it, and it works fine, just very noisy. Well, to say I don't trust it, is an understatement. Due to having just spent my cash on the bike, I am relegated to doing the repairs myself. My question (s) to the board are:
Does anyone have any experience with VROD trannies? IF so, what can I expect when I pull this thing, and open it up? I have no manual, as none are readily available here....

2002 Yamaha RoadStar all or parts for sale

I have a 2002 Yamaha RoadStar Touring classic for sale. I have many parts that are on the bike, or takinen off and exchanged like Bub shorties for V&H longs, Stage 1 K&N filter and setup. New floorboards, Lindby engine guard, etc + all the stock stuff that came off the bike.
I am currently riding a 2005 Bagger so I want to get rid of the RoadStar...
I'll see if I can't upload a picture of the bike...
