My friend has a 98 electra glide with a fuel injected evo engine, He says he can hear a clattering noise after it warms up.
The Harley tech here says that there is nothing to worry about, that there is aways alot of noise in the heads of an evo,Would everyone agree with this? My friends glide has over 80,000 miles. But as he has not owned it for very long he has no idea of what has ever been done to it.Also the tech thinks that the engine has probability been overhauled once and that they may have put in either roller Tappets or roller Rocker arms as he says they will make your engine noiser, Agree? or Disagree? (about them making it noiser)
So i guess my question really is: Is there suppose to be a clattering sound in an evo or should it be quiet?(not counting the exhaust sound)

Is there an aftermarket speedometer or speed/tach combo (not digital) - that will fit a '04 Heritage? Mine collects moisture and Harley Davidson does not warrant the speedometer.

I lowered my softail and want to stiffen the suspension. I thought it would just be to go to the next click, but is seems like its only threaded. Should i count the thread revolutions (how many?) or is there another way? Just wondering if anyone has any tips. thanks.

My 1992 Electra Glide Classic has dual disc brakes on the front and the bike has 74,000 miles on it..............the pads have been changed a couple of times during all these miles. Each type of brake pad I have tried, once they were original replacement and once they were ceramic............they make a lot of noise = scraping sounds. They work well but does anyone know of a type of pad that is quiet? The rotors are not rusted and not warped.
Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions.
