Hello,
I have an 85 Honda Shadow VT700C that can't hold a charge. I've replaced the stator (it started shorting to ground last summer) and I thought that was the only problem, but the bike still wouldn't charge. My battery was old so I replaced it, still no luck. I'm pretty sure my reg/rec is fine (I tested it following the shop manual), and my stator is still good (2 wires read 2.3 resistance on the ohmmeter and one reads .6, all within the range I've found mentioned on the net--none of them read anything to ground).
Now for my question, I read that you can test the AC volts between any 2 of the 3 stator wires and they should read anywhere from 20-50V depending on RPM; mine reads 0.8-1.5V--RPMs don't affect output. Since my stator passed both the resistance and ground test, does...

The Battle of San Jacinto, fought on April 21, 1836 near LaPorte, was the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution.
Led by General Sam Houston, the Texas Army engaged and defeated General Antonio López de Santa Anna's Mexican forces. Hundreds of Mexican soldiers were killed or captured, while there were relatively few Texan casualties.
Background
During the early years of Mexican independence, numerous anglo-american immigrants had settled in Texas, then a part of Mexico.
In 1835, they rebelled against the Mexican government of General Santa Anna after he rescinded the Constitution of 1824 and asserted dictatorial control over Mexico.
The Texans formed a provisional government and drafted a Declaration of Independence.
