Just bought my 1st HD a couple mo ago. 06-FXDBI- loven it!
I'm looking for pipes that will give it that deeper-throaty rumble. Is there a rule of thumb w/ regard to length or manuf? I'd like to get away with slipping on a pr of cycle shacks but not sure that's going to do what I want. I mean, for the $$, ya have ta consider the option.

My wife used to work for CPS (Texas Children's Protective Services) a couple of years ago. She quit, burn out, tried using her nursing degree, but she was in a crash in 99 and has pins in her leg and partial use of her right hand and really can't stand up long, a sciatic nerve problem. She's currently trying to get her disability. Heck, she'll be getting social security in another 7 years anyway.
But, when she was a case worker for CPS, she was always getting death threats, sort of unnerving. Well, it finally happened. A CPS case worker was killed by a "client" in Victoria the other day. When she'd have to remove kids, she always went with an LEO. But, when she went on investigations she was on her own. Pepper gas, firearms, stun guns, all taboo of course. I'm just glad she's...

I am changing my pipes on my 2004 injected fayboy, currently I have the stock pipes with screamin eagle2 slipons(put on a hy-flow air filter kit when I installed the mufflers and had it put on the dyno to set the computer for max performance) I am going to install Vance and Hines bigshot staggards this weekend and I have a few questions,First will I have to have the computer reset again for best performance and can I expect much performance gain from these pipes. Also my TC is completly stock

I read in the Amsoil website that for HD we could use 20w-50 in all three. Mainly the Tranny, primary, and engine. HD recommends 75w-90 on the tranny. I am planning to apply it on my bike. What do you think guys of one in all three? Will void warranty? Will it overheat/foamy? Just wanted to know cause i ordered a case..Thanks in advance.

Fist off thanks Chuck on the bushing info. I really thought that was whatr I was going to have to do all along. Secondly, if anyone is familiar with the cam shims on an iron head, I have a question. When I pulled the case off I found there were no shims period. Its been years since I had one apart and I was wondering what problems would this create other than noise. Also I found that the worm gear on the crank that drives the oil pump breather gear was in backward. The reason I am asking is the engine has a nasty noise in the lower rear which starts about 30 seconds after start up. Like a gear bounching into another. I thought it was the starter gear drifting out into the ring gear but not so. So I then went into the cam case looking for something amiss in there but all gears look fine....
