What a bummer, I purchased a new 05 Springer this spring. I ordered the non-street legal Screaming Eagle mufflers put the fish tail tips on it and they are not much louder than stock. There are two types of Screaming Eagle mufflers that can be ordered. One is like the Touring mufflers and the other in the race application only. I checked the pipes to be sure that these were the correct ones and they are the race application only. I have a old set of Screaming Eagle mufflers that came off of my Road King and they were much louder than these are. Wonder if Harley has done some changes to their pipes making them sound like a Honda Shadow?

Let me start with the bike is a 05 road glide 2000 miles and is getting personalized. I put rush mufflers on it last week today I just got the total fuel system ( similar tothe dfo) Now the bike ran ok with the rush mufflers on it but needed more fuel. when I Installed the total fuel things went wrong the fuel started comming out the exhaust. ( liquid form) not sure what happen but im not very happy. what could have happen. here what I have done so far.
1) It ran ok with the rush mufflers but on the install today i disconnected the neg battery cable . could this have wiped out the settings it was running on. and if so will i need to put the stock mufflerback on it.
2) Harley shop is saying they want the race tunner and their stuff on it ( i dont see why it should be that way) i...

I need help!!!
New harley owner...
there is a rubber hose on the bottom of the carburator where does it connect to. It will not stop leaking gas, the end not connected to carb.
Is this an over-flow hose where the gas line is left open when engine is shut off.
THANKS

This is going to seem like a stupid question but,
where, on a '74, electric start, Sportster, is the oil filter supposed to be?
I've recently purchased this bike and am stumped.
All the info I can gather is that there "may" be a drop in type.
I've searched through the Haynes book and Harley's own service manual and they are both useless!

Unless the rumor mill is way off base, H-D has indeed gone closed loop EFI at least on the Dyna lineup. Definitive info is hard to come by as yet.
Also, the six speed is really a 1:1 sixth using a DD style primary drive.
