I have a 1981 flt 5 speed trans that was working fine. I parked the bike for the night, and when I put it in gear in the morring it would not move. I was on a hill and the bike started to move then it stoped like it had a **** under the wheels, I heard no noise and it did that 2 or 3 times then nothing. I did check the agustment on the clutch and it is fine. Can anyone help me.

I just replaced my battery on my 2003 VTX and charged it up before installing it. I started the engine and checked the voltage with a digital multimeter by hooking the contacts directly to the battery. I get a reading of 12.5 volts with the engine running and no change when I accelerate the throttle.
Does any one have any suggestions whether this is correct?
I checked the ground wires for tightness and corrosion and didn't see any corrosion, and the ground wires were tight.
By the way I have a 2005 Harley Road King on order, hopefully will be here this week or next, but was needing to ride the VTX till it gets here.

I have a 2001 ultra with 22,000 miles on it and the o-rings in the quick disconect are leaking for the second time since I bought the bike. Is this a common problem? I have three other friends with 2001 ultras that are not having this problem. Harley said that I was getting bad gas, but I buy my gas at the same station that my friends do.

This Friday afternoon a friend and I road across Metro Atlanta during the first part of rush hour. From the extreme NE suburbs to the extreme W suburbs. As you might expect, it was hot, stop and go, often slow even when moving. We had fun when we got there, but it was a taxing ride for riders and bikes too -- I suspect. Which brings me to the point.
I was riding my 2004 Softail Heritage Classic, stock engine with normal Stage I upgrade and an oil cooler. My buddy was on a 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan, which is water cooled.
When we got to where we were going, his oil temperature was 180 degrees - he has a 180 degree thermostat installed, and my analog oil temperature dip stick said 220 degree. (Before I installed the oil cooler it ran 230 on a trip like that.)
My thought is that if...
