First let me say that I'm new Harleys and I apologize in advance for the very long post and any ignorance or redundancy on my part.
I have a '98 Dyna, recently purchased, with 2,500 mi, and a 3 month old Die-Hard ($120) battery. I rode about 60 mi. from home with no problems and as soon as I got off the highway I lost Tach/Speedo. Shut off engine shortly after and would not re-start...just clicking, dim lights, battery near dead. After several strenuous attempts across a flat parking lot got it bump started and rode about 7 mi. to the home of an aquaintance where I had to leave it and return to work in the morning. I did pull the battery and put it on low charge for about 8 hrs. It seems to have taken a charge, is showing around 12v when tested fresh off the charger (will check again...

i have a 47 knuckle/shovel. the motor has been recently rebuilt,by who i don't know. when it gets hot it begins to seize up. one guy told me that the rings are'nt gapped right. can rings that are'nt done right exspand enough to stop the motor? it runs great until it gets up to high temp. and then slowly starts to seize up. i let it cool off alittle and it starts right up again. is this something that will break in? i have very' very little ride time (10 mi.) please help a dude out. give me your input. ratshotshilo@cox.net

Hi buds,
Finally made the move to the Heavy Duty Progressive 412's. I'm tired of bottoming out with the OL on the bike. According to the Service Manual, installation seems simple enough - do one side at a time, unbolt the old and install the new. Do I have to put a jack under something to raise the bike or is everything going to line up??

Just bought a 2005 Softail Deluxe have not taken delivery yet. I need some advice on the best exhaust system for it. I don't want it to loud and I don't want straight pipes. I like the look of the stock setup, should I just replace the mufflers? I would appreciate any and all advice.
