I am wanting to upgrade/change the exhaust on my '04 FatBoy. It has stock exhaust on it now. I want something a bit louder/rougher. Looking at V&H ShortShots. I know I will have to tweak the EFI. Anyone else recently change exhaust on FLSTFI? Looking for opinions and advice on sound, power, and looks. What have others bought and how happy are you with it?

I started riding an '04 FLHR about four months ago, and have been trying to
sell my '95 Fatboy, without success. Yesterday I decided to take the F.B.
for a ride, and the first thing I noticed was how much harder it was to shift
than the R.K. Also, "finding" neutral was a bit difficult. Granted, until the R.K.
showed up, I had owned the F.B. for 12 years and put 52K on her and didn't
have any other point of reference. Would the F.B. be that much "tighter" to
shift, or is there something wrong. I've been on the R.K. for about 3,000
miles so my "feel" for the F.B. kinda went away. What do y'all think?
Thanks, in advance,
Ron

Just have to b*tch and complain here for a second. If they know the bikes are going to rattle so much (which is a BIG selling factor of the bike), then why can't Harley Davidson manufacturers add Locktite to the nuts, bolts and screws?! I recon' cause they are too damn cheap!
I was out for a great ride yesterday (about 700kms)... when I was about 75kms from my final destination, I noticed that I had an exhaust leak at the manifold and exhaust pipe area. I rode the bike to a friend's and took a closer look. As it turns out, one of the bolts which attaches the exhaust to the manifold had rattled right off the bike. This also caused the stud screw in the manifold to strip.
It took a heck of a lot of p*ssing around to get that stud screw out of the manifold... an overnight stay at...

So, looked at the calendar today... SO many IF's on it.... IF I had joined the Army (which I did, and proud of it), IF I had NOT joined the National Guard and would have stayed active Army (but I did, and Have NEVER regreted my Guard time), IF I had never done a 1 year break of service (but I did, and still do not really regret it), IF I had not gotten back into the guard (but I did that too!), and IF I had not gone into the Air Force (a move I don't regret either!), TODAY would have been my first day of active duty Army RETIREMENT But I did....I have no regrets. Have had a great time doing things, seeing things, meeting many people....am now a Nurse in the Air Force, and will retire in about 8-9 years. All brings me back to today.....I could have retired!!

3 days, 1500 miles and it hasn't been that tough. I'm famous for overscheduling on the miles. When my ex and I rode out to Milwaukee we were planning on 400 mile days and it seemed like it was almost impossible. Maybe it's riding by myself. I could have gone farther today and made it to Sioux Falls, but I decided to stop here in Jackson, MN. I got a great deal at a KOA, which I usually try to stay away from. Nice little site, free wireless internet, swimming pool, laundry - all for $10 (cash - wink, wink). I'm chillin'...
Tomorrow I make Rapid City and then I've cut myself down to 250 mile days so I can see ride the scenic routes and see the sights. I can't wait.
My only bike issue so far was a taillight lens I lost on a pothole. I heard it go and was worried I lost part of my load, but...
