This might be a stupid question, but here goes. I use the Scavenger system to get all the dirty oil out of my 88B. The only reason I bring this part up is because I'm removing the oil filter and the puck that comes with the system, so I get the mess twice. Is there any way to get the filter off the bike without having an oil spill? I put the oil drain pan under that part, but I spend more time mopping up the oil that gets all over the bike than the actual oil change itself. There has to be a better way.

Do the Torca Clamps need to be replaced if the mufflers are removed? If it
makes any difference I'm on a 2004 FLHR.
Thanks for your help & advice.

Well I finally was able to buy my dream bike and have all the things added to it that I want. Well this is my first harley and due to my lack of skill (never ridden one before) I feel like Im going to be afraid to ride it. Mainly due to messing up such a nice expensive thing. I have been riding a Enduro 500 to learn in the mean time that my bike is being built. Do yall think that is enough? Is there anything you recommend? I think I am a little above a beginners MSF course but below the intermediate. Anyone have any words of wisdom of how to practice and build up my confidence?
Here are some pics of my bike inprogress:

With $1.7 spent prior on my 95" motor upgrade & now looking at an additional 3K at least to repair & fix my crank that took a walk, I'm starting to wonder if you can really have both reliability & performance...or is the statement an oxymoron?
What's your thoughts?

Hi Ya'll, I am experiencing my first thumping sound in almost 8 years!! 2000 FXDWG, my heart, my baby, my love is thumping.. I checked the primary chain and adjusted, it was a little slack, but the thump is still there. Tomorrow I will open the derby cover and do a complete clutch adjustment. Do ya'll think that will work?, or does anyone know of a recall in that area? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.. Thanks, Jeannie
