I recently purchased my first Harley! It's a 2007 Black Pearl Ultra Classic. To date it's as stock as it gets! I just parted with a 04 Goldwing and so far I have not been dissatisfied in any way with my harley. I would like to perk this one up a bit and maybe get some true harley throat out of it as well. What suggestions do you all have for me? Keep in mind that I am retired and not independently wealthy! Should I consider true dual exhaust, new mufflers, air cleaners, ?????? I want to hear that true Harley roar but I guess I also want to hear the radio and the wife when she's talking to me.

I mentioned this last year as well. Once again we went on the annual Tyler Ride. This was the 8th annual ride and had the largest turnout I have seen so far. There were 600+ bikes and about 800 people including passengers. Once again it was a great success and a great feeling to be a part of such a good cause. Tyler is a local kid who suffers from MD. The ride raises money for equipment and medical care he needs that insurance will not always cover.
Anyway this year, for the 1st time I've seen on this particular run, there was one buffoon who decided to to a burnout between the last two stops. He lost control of his ride and the bike barrell rolled into four other bikes. Most of the injuries were pretty superficial but there was one person with a head injury that had to be medevac'd...

I read through the tech article on how to rejet a carb. Can this be done without removing the carb from the bike?

Hello all,
New here, first post..
I recently took ownership of a 2000 Wide Glide, and upon changing the spark plugs, I noticed the electrodes are showing that it is running lean. I'm basing this assumption on what I have researched on the web, being that my plugs are showing to be light grey, to white, as opposed to the tan to light grey readings of a normal condition. Again, based on research on the web, and the newly aquired service manual.
The bike is running strong otherwise, but I don't want to continue running it if I am in an overheating condition. The top of the front rocker box cover has some discoloration and cracking of the chrome plating on it.
The bike has 30,000 miles, stock exhaust, and it does appear the previous owner has made adjustment to the mixture settings...
