Dear all, this is my first post - I have searched the forums for my problem, and altough I found relevent threads regarding efi idle speed, I didnt want to start up these old threads.
Here´s my bike:
I have a softail 2004 with se-slipons, se 211 cams, wiseco 1550 pistons, a correctly mapped powercommander, and the cylinderheads are slightly ported by a harley engine company. This bike has EFI.
Here´s my problem:
Yesterday the idle speed disappeared. Cant get it back. Tried the scanalyzer - it was set on 1290 rpm:s - the highest possible.
Altough I had problems with the idle before (probably because the se 211 cams overlap pretty much) the idle-problems went away when I installed the big bore (probably due to higher compression).
Now I have nada. I checked the little valve...

I just wanted to post about the ride we went on this past Saturday. It was the 7th annual Tyler Ride. They had an all time high of about 500 bikes. It is a Poker run to raise money for a 12 year old named Tyler who suffers from muscular dystrophy. There was a very large turn out this year. The estimate was about 500 bikes!
One of my buddies lost a coil at the first stop, which was about an hour from home. They had a chase vehicle all ready with a trailer. They loaded his bike on, drove him from stop to stop and delivered the bike back to my house where he stores it. What a nice touch. I believe they just added the chase vehicle last year.
I just figured I would mention the ride. It covered about 150 miles through some very nice scenic New England towns and winding...

Got some stripped cylinder studs and was wondering if timeserts are a better choice over helicoils. Any opinions on subject would be helpful.
<Also>
Has anyone tried drilling and tapping with engine in frame using jig, and if so how did you deal with aluminum chips?

Hey Mechanics, I have a 2004 Harley 883C with screamin eagle pipes, air filter, and I assume a rejetted carb. (I am the second owner) After the bike warms up (about 15 miles) it will hesitate, cough, sputter, and backfire when I first open the throttle like at a stop sign. It runs fine down the road and while it is still cold. Any ideas. Thanks, Chuck23
