I am having problems shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. If I am shifting normally at a slower RPM, then it happens less. If I'm goosing it a tad, it happens quite frequently. In fact, more often than not. I have adjusted the clutch to both extreams( 1/2 turn and 1 turn) with little results. My clutch cable is at it's maximum.
I know it's time for a new clutch cable so my question is "Do I need a new clutch too?"
I have taken the top cover an given the tranny a inspection and all seems well.
Forks and springs look good.
I ride a 02 wide glide. Screamin Eagle mufflers and a K&N air box.
New rings. 28000 miles on it.
Any clutch gurues out there??

When you are on a trip or are tuning and want to make changes to the PC and do not have a dyno available you can still make accurate changes in the tables.
Place a strip of masking tape along the inside of the switch housing close to the throttle.
Place a small strip of tape along the throttle next to the other strip.
Hook up you PC to a lap top or desk top and load the software.
Set the percent of throttle to 0 (idle).
Make a mark on the tape on the switch housing indicating 0 and a pointer on the throttle aligned with it.
Open the throttle marking the housing at 10% intervals. The pointer you made on the throttle is the reference mark.
Check your settings and shut the ignition off.
If you have a tach, you are all set.
Go for a ride and note where you are having...

Has anyone installed the Big City Thunder baffles in a set of Hooker step tuned pipes? If so, what do you think? I have been hearing a lot of good stuff about the thunder baffles.
Thanks
Thanks

We take off next weekend for Billings, MT and our first leg will be about 450 miles, not to bad. Were going to be heading over many passes on the way. Anyone recognize this pass.

To all,
I'm thinking of ridin' up to Ohio on Wednesday and Thursday, leaving from the Houston area.
Made the trip many times in a cage, this will be my first trip over 400 miles in one day.
Any advice from you all you ol' long haulers out there?
Thanks for your words of wisdom in advance,
scoot
