Does Anyone Know The Steps To Paint Chrome Pipes? Does It Need The Primer Or Can You Get Away With Just The High Temp Paint? What Would Be The Temp Rateing For The Paint. Just Wondering Because I'm Thinking About Doing This, I'm Just Tired Of Keeping Up With The Gold And Blue Clean Up.

I Don't Know About Every One Else, But Why In The Heck Harley Puts All This Alum On The Bike And It Seems It's Always The First To Oxidise Or Fad. Is It Polished Then Clear Coated. For Example The Fork Lower Legs, Rocker Covers. And Why Powdercoat A Moter Gray Or Is That Too Some Kinda Finish, Primary Covers For Example. Just Wondering If It's Just Me Or If Anyone Else Has This Problem.

For the parade of Harley's through downtown Billings at the National HOG rally, HOG was doing a random drawing from the pre-registered. WOW, my wife Pat got chosen, now for the funny part. She rides a Honda Valkyrie Trike that I built for her a couple of winters ago. She won't give it up for any Harley either. I checked with the powers to be (Beth) the even manager at Harley. She suggested Pat ride with me on my Ultra. So that means I get to fight that clutch with all that slow riding,
.
Maybe I will ride the lighter bike to Billings my Springer.
Her Trike is really not bad looking and she always wins awards for it. I'll be the people at Harley really raised their eye brows when they heard this.

1985 FLHT with a Drag Specalties high torque starter
Problem/Help - Starter rotates but will not disengage after pressing the start button. I had to disconnect the battery cable to get the starter to stop turn on several attempts to crank the engine. Kill switch has no effect on the situation. Battery cables get really hot during this time.
I have replaced the solenoid and still had the same thing happen several times.
Tell me - what the heck is going on here ???

Hi, I am in the process of restoring a 1960 Duo Glide Pan Head. I have made a couple of modifications from the original such as Hydralic tappits, electronic dristbutor and converting the primary drive to belt. These modifications have been made to ensure reliability and a smooth ride. The question I am unsure of is whether to put a reconditioned Linkert Carb onto the bike or convert a Harley CV carb. The CV carb is probably higher spec but I hear the old Linkerts are pretty reliable. As it is a kick start only I want to put the most reliable carb on it. What do you reckon.
