Howdy, I was talking with somone today and an interesting topic (at least to me) came up. We were talking engine modifications etc and one fella said he didn't want to do ANYTHING just keep it stone stock. So Yankee Bob, who's a pretty good wrench told him that even if you were going to do that you still needed to install a Power Commander since that would help even a stock bike run more efficently. Since I am new to all this using a pc for a tune up stuff I just listened and wondered.....and rushed back to ask here, cause as always I figure I'll get the straight scoop. So what about it CD and the rest of you was Yankee Bob blowing smoke or giving sage advise?

OK--I'm replacing my S&S carburator with a Mikuni. I've had the S&S for 4 years and have never been real happy with it. In your opinions, did I make a decent or a bad choice. Deal or no deal?

I recently had some V&H Long Shots installed on my 2002 Softail Heritage Harley with EFI. I'm hearing some sounds that I believe may be a problem with the pipes or installation. They were installed by a dealer. I already had the Stage 1 download on my bike when I had the baffles removed from the stock pipes, so i was told nothing else was needed to be performed other than the install. The sound is somewhat difficult to explain, but it sounds almost like a morse code sound of a rapid metallic type. Almost like a metal button rapidly tapping against metal. At low RPMs it is less noticeably, but when increasing the speed it gets much more apparent. Does this make any sense at all? It idles beautifully - love the "cam like" sound. Could there possibly be an exhaust leak or maybe...

I have inherited a 72 electroglide (FLH) I think. Basket case. I want to change the front end to a dyna wide glide type. I don't like the large forks and 16 in. tire. What type of stock or aftermarket forks will fit on this without screwing up the geometry or altering the frame
?
