A while back I sold a 03 Ultra glide to a friend of mine. A little while after the purches he complaind about it dying for no reason at all. He had no power, nuthin, nada. I had the same problem with it a couple of times. All I did was shut off the ignition wait a second or two then it fired right up. After the second time I took it back to the stealership, they found nothin wrong with it so I figured I'd let the problem develop if there was one and hope it did'nt die at a critical time leaving my ole lady and me stranded. ect... He took it the the same stealership and they told him it might be the ECM. Thats nice, it MIGHT be after the bike is out of warenty. Anyway. I was wondering if it might be a failing battery cell or something simple and if anybody out there had the same...

Howdy,
Just got back from Atlanta. I rode down there Friday afternoon to meet a buddy of mine who was heading up to Myrtle Beach for Bike Week. We hooked up and found a place called Daves Bar B Que off I 285. **** they had some fine ribs. Anyway I met him there then we rode back here and are off to Bike Week tomorrow. I asked a few of the local HOG guys if they wanted to go to Atlanta for a sammich..and they just looked at me weird. *shrugs* Hell it was only 420 miles round trip.....some folks just don't appreciate Bar B Que....Speaking of which if anyones thinking about heading this way the Blue Ridge Bar B Que Fest is June 9th and 10th in Tryon NC. Pretty good thing. Bar B Que cook offs, lost of music, BEER....I will be back from DC and Rolling Thunder then so if ya might make...

A friend and i are fairly new to riding Harleys, We go out and ride 100-150 miles on Saturday or Sunday.
Most of are riding is open road, very little in town riding.
We both have evo engines and would like them to last as long as possible.
So my question is: How should we be riding? We tend to baby them to the point of lugging on hills some times, trying to keep the rpm's down.Is this wrong? Should we be whining them out some? Down shifting on the hills to keep them revved up more?
Would really like to hear from you guys that have been riding Harleys a long time. What's the best style of riding to get the longest life out of an EVO.
