My buddy has a bike that has a 1340 Shovel in it with a Morris Magneto. The problem he keeps having is difficulty starting which basically means he has to kick the living **** out of it until his friends finally have to push him. The bike is kick only BTW.

He has had this motor and magneto for about twenty five years. So he knows how to start it and adjust it. He also built the bike and the motor himself so he also knows a little about the end of a wrench. The last time the motor was re-built was about three years ago but he used the same mag. He has been having this problem sense then but it has slowly been getting worse.

It runs fine when running but seems to have week spark when starting it. We've run out of ideas on how to fix it short of throwing out the mag and changing...

Can a starter clutch gear appear bad.I have held it in my hand and looked it over real good, how can you tell by looking.It's a ratchet type gear, it should ratchet one way and lock the other way.It either does or it doesn't.Is there more to this that I'm overlooking.

I have a 2002 suzuki intruder 1400, the transmission has never shifted real good but the other day when I went to down shift, it did ok until I got down to 3rd. The shifter just went limp, trans was still in gear but the shifter wouldn't shift. I think it's the shifter fork but am not sure. If there is anyone with some input man it would be helpful. Thanks

I have a Kawasaki 1982 KZ1000 K2 LDT.
I purchase 4 carburetor rebuild kits Part number (KL18-2436).

My problem is that even after replacing the Float Needle Valve Seat assembly it is still leaking gas. Granted it's only 1 drop every 30 seconds to a minute, but this is enough to overflow the carb when it's seating long enough.

I have cleaned and recleaned this carb. I have inspected the chamber the Float valve is inserted in. I have the gas going thru a brand new filter. I have blown out the float value with air and made sure there was no dirt or varnish messing with the float needles. However when I take the bowls off and hold the floats up I still have two carbs that are leaking gas from what looks like the needles themselves. Is it possible I got some needles which are defective?...
