I've been riding since 1966 but never changed handlebars before. I bought a pair of baby apes for an 02 Sportster. How do I get the left grip off the old drag bars without messing it up? Am I correct in assuming the right one will separate when I unbolt it. I would really appreciate any advice.

New vibration around 65 to 70 just started on a 92 FXSTC. Any ideas would be appreciated.

OK guys I had a long talk with my mechanic he says that frying my engine is a lot of BS. That something that has come down from the car industry and that the straight pipes im running are longer then a lot of the mufflers You buy and put on. He has been working on bike for 25 years, he really sounds like he knows what he’s talking about. Please understand im not being a smart A$$ . I would just really like the facts, for me and anyone else that’s may go have to deal with this issue. So my question to you guys is this, Do you know for a Fact it is going to trash my engine or are you just passing on what you have heard from others.

Well I did get to ride her for around 12 hours this weekend and it was great but again death came in to the facter once again. the engine just started locking up than I would restart it and ride her again and did it again. the engine started makeing som bad growling sound (not a knock) so I got her home and located the noise behind the primary cover. pulled the primary cover and found a spring in there so I prceded to pull the chains and found the problem. the crankshaft spocket roller bearings went south. so I pulled her down and split the case. I will be rebuilding he I just hope I can find the parts with ease.
just for a side note the oil return holes on the head gaskets were in the wrong location they were blocked off on the rear head.. again the guy that had this bike didnt...
