I'm looking to getting a detachable windshield for my new Fboy. Which types would you guys recommend that have them on? I don't want an overly HUGH windshield, something that gets the job done and still looks nice on the bike. Also, I plan in the future to install an auxiliary light kit but would like the windshield first and need it to fit once I upgrade to the aux. light kit...

I can't remember the members name, but one of you knows how to paint.
I've been painting my inner fairing the last few weeks. In the next week or so, I'll be laying down the most important coat...the clear coat.
Now the black came out with a bit of orange peel look, but I'll be adding another coat this next week...so theres a chance to correct that either in the black, or in the clear.
I've got 400 and 800 grit paper to sand in preperation for up coming coats...and tack cloth to clean up the sanding dust.
When I spray, do I want the paint to look wet?...or am I supposed to be laying down a fine mist that just slowly builds up?
Finally, if there is a bit of texture to my final clearcoat, can I buff it out using a polishing compound?

Was out riding the other day and upon shutting my 2000 Heritage down I
lost the electronic speedometer, brake lights, and turn signals when I restarted the bike. When I replace the blown fuse, it immediately blows the new one without trying to start the bike or anything. Anyone have any ideas where my problem might be ? Is there anyway to isolate these items to try and determine where my problem might be. This is my first bike that I only bought a couple of months ago, so I am new at all of this.
Any help or input someone might have to help me get this problem fixed would be greatly appreciated !
Sincerely,
cropguy
PS CD, thank you for the reply. But since I have training wheels, where are the front and rear brake switches ? Anybody ? Also, how do i isolate...

I am working on my 02 Wide Glide. Stock pipes w/a 1" hole rammed thru them. Everything else stock. I am a "Very Aggerssive rider". I blew a gasket and removed the heads and jugs for a detailed inspection of my motor. I discovered a 1/8" thick ring of burned crud or oil along the perimeter of both pistons. I believe this is telling me the rings and/or pistons are worn. Since I'm this far I figured I may as well bore the jugs and go to 95" pistons. Now I am unemployed right now and am trying to go cheap at this time so I'm wondering do I have to do any other head work? Will I have to switch Cams?? Can I get away with just rejetting the carb w/K&N air filter??? Any coments or help.....

I'm taking apart the forks on a custom bike to have the lower legs chromed and as I pulled the tube plugs I noticed there was no spring tension. Every other fork I have pulled apart of my own has had some spring tension there. It looks like who ever built the bike pieced it together. The springs look like they were cut, and they used emt pipe for spacing. The only thing I can think to do is replace the springs to stock length. I would have to imagine that without that direct pressure from the spring you would get a gap and excessive slaming down when braking. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
