Does Rienhart True Dual pipe installation require the use of the mount bracket on top of the starter? I'm bolting the primary and starter assy. on and don't have the pipes yet. Thanks in advance.

My buddy bought a new Road kIng Classic back in May after he saw my Heritage and decided it was time he had a Harley. He had the 5000 mile service done at the dealership. He just went over 8K miles and called me due to the bike feeling like it had a low tire or wobble when coming off the throttle. Tire pressure was checked and ok. I told him to get it to the shop quickly as it could be bearings or something. Turns out it was loose spokes on the rear wheel. The shop told him it was not a warranty item and the cost would be $180 to true the wheel and adjust the spokes. I told him that the spokes should have been checked at the 5K service and there was little chance that they would have loosened up if they had been checked. I don't think the service technician did the check on the...

Hi
I'm new to the world of motorcycles. Have a new softail and girlfriend has a '05 Low rider. Rode when I was younger almost 30 years ago. My life has meaning again!
I just bought a maintenance DVD and one thing on it surprised me.
When doing an oil or transmission drain and refill, the guy recommended putting liquid teflon on the drain plug threads.
Like I said I'm new to motorbikes, but, was a mechanic in my previous life for 25 years and never heard of this. Always have relied on the gasket and I replaced the o-rings when I did my service.
Am I asking for a leak if I don't use teflon paste on the drain plug threads?
I've been reading a lot of posts here and am very impressed with the knowledge and experience being passed on.

I am brand new with Harley's but when I sat on a new Sportster, the seat sucked to put it bluntly. I have an '01 Sportster coming and would like to upgrade the seat. My back has some issues and wanted to get a little rearward from stock, as well as a comfortable ride for the wife. I'll probably get one shot at getting her on the bike, and if it hurts, it will be difficult the second time. How are the Mustang seats vs. Corbin and any particular models out there that improve the quality of ride etc? Thanks.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for getting my primary cover off? I have a 2004 Dyna Wide Glide. I'm trying to refill the primary fluid, but I can't see to get the cover off. And before I completely strip the screws I thought I would ask.
