Just got a '63 xlch that has a magento which doesn't have the easiest access to it . I replaced the points and condenser and found the points were hard to set w/ a blade type feeler gauge. I can't find one of these antiques that have the wire, in fact some of these kids don't even know what i'm taking about. Quess my age is showing..
Anyone know where i can get the wire type feeler gauge?

WEll looks like Yamaha and Victory have taken to spec building ...I tried it myself with the victory models online!!! even gave me the cost and all thwe goodies listed out.They look good, every year at the manufacturer show in cleveland we get to in to check out the new models from most of manufacturers . Build it the way you want it (for the most part) the first time. Instead of buying a bike then replacing a piece here and a piece there..don't get me wrong it was like the color,chrome forks and the color of the engine,light options... but more than HD's here is what "we" put on it before ya buy it. wonder if'll cACTH ON or if HD will try something else..I thought maybe if you buy a V-twin and trade it in then you could get a spec. LOL.....out here it is a HDv twin for a HDv-twin...

SO HERE I AM LOOKING FOR ANSWERS....MY RIDE IS A '92 FULL REBUILD FXR SUPERGLIDE HD. MECH.MODS INCLUDE E46 CAM , S/EAGLE HEADS , MIKUNI AND HYPERCHARGER WITH SANTEE 50CAL LONG SHOT PIPES. PISTONS ARE STOCK FLAT TOP HD. CAN'T SEEM TO GET FULL ( IT'S IN THERE SOMEWHERE ) HP. FROM THE BIKE. BEST DYNO IS AT 62.5 HP AND I'M TOLD THE PIPES ARE 99 % THE PROBLEM. AM ADVISED , CHANGE THE PIPES TO SAY S&S SLASH CUTS AND YOU'LL BE AT 80'S PLUS JUST FROM THAT FIX. ??? ANY IDEAS OR ALTERNATIVES OUT THERE FOR ME ?? WOULD APPRECIATE SOME TALK BEFORE I GO TRIAL AND ERROR ROUTE... THANKS , SHADOW.

Am I the only one who has had the "factory" oil pressure gage crap out on them and leak the glycerine, or what ever it is, thru a crack in the clear PLASTIC , cover on the engine. I thought maybe I just got a lemon the first time around but I'm on my third one. It is a great looking gage with the HD emblem on the face but the SOB leaks. They are still selling them at HD dealers. Cant they find a better supplier of gages. Any ideas on where to get a decent looking gage that actually works?

Or, ode to Valentino Rossi. Danged good rock 'n roll. Turn up the speakers!
