I have seen end caps on the true duals on some Road Kings have a maroon color/tint. I just purchased a set and the end caps are black. Question: Will they turn color or is the new exhaust different. I prefer the Maroon tint because I ordered a Blackcherry Road King Custom last month. Any post appreciated, Thanks

Does anyone know of an affordable diagnostic scan tool that is available to the consumer and will work for Harley-Davidson?

Hey all I just this morning picked up a 81 sporty. I'm told it's a 1200 but I've yet to document that.
The bike has been setting in a guy I work with livingroom for the last 6 years. The motor has 600 miles on a rebuild.
I need to know if I should pull all the covers off and the plugs out, and oil her up before I try to start it.
THe tank appears to be clean but I'll be taking the carb off and tearing it apart to make sure it isn't all varnished up.
I also need to know what kind and what weight oil I should be using in it. I've been a Valvoline kinda guy for my race cars, street vehicles and dirt bikes. Should I go synthetic or fossil.
Thanks to one and all in advance.

Bottom version is the "motard" version, street legal, 17" wheels, brakes from hell. There's a competition version of the motor that makes over 70 RWHP. Stock is 60. It's a 450cc V twin.
