After our thread and subsequent help putting a bike together for a soldier who lost an arm..I thought this pretty interesting.
Yamaha's upgraded FJR1300 for 2006 will have an electronic shifter..no clutch. You can still shift with your foot, but you don't have to. With the press of a button..it does it all for you..pretty cool. The price tag has gone up on the bike though. I paid $11.5k for a std 2004, with the ABS version about $13.5k. Now the 2006 ABS version is going for $15.3k (includes factory heated grips..which I paid extra for). Not sure if the non-ABS version has the electronic shifter or not..I suspect not.

Howdy folks, when I pull into someplace on my cycle I’d like for people to turn and look at my bike because it’s nice, not because of whirl-squeal-squeal-whirl-squeal-squeal.
This next payday I plan on getting rid of my cheap-a$$ brake pads and buying a couple sets of lyndall brake pads from D.P. (good prices).
My question is this, should I get the gold or the Z’s.
Is there really a difference? I know you have to season/break-in the gold pads.
Does anyone prefer one over the other, if so why? Thanks.

CANBERRA: Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told
on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted
radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. A day after
a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia at
a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his
ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown.
Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted
that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if
they did not accept that Australia was a secular state and its laws
were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want
