Hi,
Just wondering what any one would advise for the best high performance exhuast for a 2002 1200 custom sportster?
I'm open to 2-2 or 2-1 exhaust....I'm mostly concerned with getting exceptional high performance ....but also would like to have a cool (unique) look and great sound as well.
Just curious what any one would recommend.

Well, just received my first order from DP. All was good, except I may have ordered the wrong part. My fault. I have the MOCO parts catalog, and it covers 95 & 96. The only difference is the switch for mine is 71428-90B, and earliers ones are -90A. The drag specialties catalog clear states it replaces the OEM -90A. Like I said, my fault.
I have a 96 FXDS and the switch I ordered was for the 95 Dynas. It has 3 positions. Lock, Off, and Ign.
Mine has 3 positions. Off, Acc, and IGN. Personally I find the center ACCESORY postion just silly. Never used it and can't figure out when I would.
Any reason I just couldn't wire it like the 95's and earlier? That actually makes more sense to me than the way the 96 is arranged.
This assumes of course it will fit in the...

Trying to install a tach on my 05 softale deluxe carb,
it seems that HD never included a tach wire in the harness of the 05 softale deluxe ,the tach installation says to connect green wire from the tach to negative terminal side of coil there are no terminal on the coil & the reb and blue wire to the positive terminal or other switched 12 volt source again no terminals on the coil and then black wire to ground , then i was told because the 05 model is a single fired ignition to get the tach adapter , now the adapter has 4 wire leads 2 gray 1 green 1 black
The installation for the adapter says to connect the gray wires to the negative side of the coil the green wire to the tach input the black wire to ground.
now this is were i am a little confused so and help out there would...

I have a 1988 springer softail. The problem I have been having is the other day while riding the bike just shut off. Let it sit for a couple mins, and it started back up. I rode the bike a couple times after that and no problem. Then the last time I took the bike out, the first half of the trip went great. On the way home (starting to get dark), the headlight and dash light got real real bright and the bike died. turned the ignition switch off and when I tried to restart the bike the ignition module started to smoke. turned the key off again, checked out some wires and cant find anything wrong. turned the key on and she started to smoke again. Anyone have any ideas where to start looking?

Day after riding on the motorway for about 40 miles at max speed (never done this before...but was in a rush), went out for a short ride around town, but after about a mile, the engine started to cut out (jerky) at low rpms
Kept it going at high revs, but once turned off, could not restart; pressing the starter button could hear a click (just one), then nothing. Managed to push start-it and get home. The next day after topping up the battery fluid, thought I'd go around a bit to let the alternator recharge the battery. Had to push start it to get going.
After about 30mins stopped and tried to restart ...but again one click, then nothing ...so I assumed it had to be a problem with the battery
Replaced it (as it was getting old) and it started immediately; At this point I thought...
