'05 Softail - Drag Pipes/SE Air Filter/PCIII
After laying into it the other day trying to keep up with my Dad, I could feel I still had good pull when I bumped up against the rev limiter. So I decided to have the stage 1 flash done. After that, I downloaded the appropriate PC map. Now when I try to give it a lot of quick throttle it just drowns out like it's way to rich. I suspect the map is way off, although the other 3 maps I've had on the bike have been really good. It got me wondering if the dealer really did the ECU flash. Does anyone know how to verify? The bike ran pretty good after I put the drag pipes on with the 'stock ecu' map before the dealer supposedly flashed the ECU.

I got tired of my OEM Harley Speedo fogging over inside with condensation. I replaced the A, B, and now the superceded C versions at about $299.00 a pop to no avail. I decided to purchase a VDO 3 3/8 to replace my 1998 FXD speedo and try that after Harley finally said they all fog and nothing cures it but aftermarket. It is suppose to be highly rated, but then a friend said he did not think it has an odometer, nor that it will fit with any modification at all in the stock housing. I looked at the picture and it apperars to have an Odometer, and says nothing in the literature, but he thinks it is a trip meter only? Big Bummer! It is suppose to be very weather tight and well made however. I have not received it yet but should any day. Anyone have any insight on this at all please. How...

This is for a 2001 FXST (A buddy's). He has Wild1 Chubby's - 1 1/4" diameter (16") apes with new 1" risers. We have the new bars locked down where he wants to run them and needs to order the cables tomorrow, so we can get this done and back together next week. Per our measurements, it looks like we need to go +6" on the throttle/idle cables, and 4" on the clutch. 1st question) Anyone else running 16" apes and what length's did you go with, and were they just right, too short or too long? 2nd question) For same bars, how did you come up with your front brake cable length? The stock front brake cable is partially hard lined, and the replacement will be completely flexible. So, allowing for some flex, and the need to re-route and come up with a different idea to secure this, what...

There is not many sports riding enthusiasts or super touring freaks around here, but I thought you might be interested in reading this review about the Yamaha MT-01 that definitely blurs the line between cruisers and sport bikes. This is the next step after the RoadStar Warrior that was introduced a couple years ago.
