I have a 1980 FXE Superglide, had a 1.5" primary belt, broke belts over the years, so I changed out to a BDL chain kit. Problem now is the starter clutch gear jamms up. I checked the starter alignment, its good sitting on both pins. I have an 11 tooth pinion gear and 66 tooth ring gear. Any ideas?

Here we go again, another dyno oil vs syn oil question. Sorry in advance!
Changed cases and rocker boxes on Sportster this winter, since I began to drive this year I have had a noticeable tic in the rocker boxes. I find it most noted between 2000-3000 rpms, and not until oil warms up, around 120F on the oil tank gauge. I've had it back to the dealer twice since to ensure I'm not doing any damage by riding it, they say it is normal. I had a buddy ride it the other day who knows the bike from riding it previous years, he is like me in that he does not find the noise was there before. I also find the exhaust note has changed this year and seems deeper than it was. He is not sure about that one.
My dealer has recommended against my decision to replace the lifters, say I'd be wasting money on...

Well, Hot Rider, my dad and I are on the third day of our road trip. We are taking a scenic roads of Minnesota tour and so far it hasn't disappointed. For the two days we have gone we have nearly 600 miles. Just taking our time. Today we are looking at about another 200 miles which will take us to a place called International Falls MN which is right by the Canadian border. However before we leave, I need to stop off at a dealer and rejet my carb. Other than that, no hitches.

My wife has M.S. . This means that her balance and stamina are compromised, creating all sorts of complications when talking about riding with me on my motorcycle.
So I'm wondering about a side car. This would ease the pressure on her bum, eliminating any vibration issues with her body that I won't go into here, and would allow her to sit without the concern for balance during turns.
I have seen a couple videos about side car installations, and I imagine that there are a few companies out there that make them and sell them. If I was twenty again, I might even consider doing a DIY project, but not THESE days.
Anyone in here who has some experience with the installation of a side car kit, or the operatoin of a bike WITH a side car? I realize that the "leaning" factor goes away and...

I know I said I wasn't going to put loud pipes on this bike yet but my neighbor and I got bored the other night so we cut off the tips of my stock pipes and put on these used end caps that we had laying around. The sound is amazing. I'll have to try and get a video.
After the first short drive I realized that the fiberglass was not going to last. It was ripping up inside. I have since stuffed in some chicken wire and it seams to be working great, however, I think it will slowly deteriorate over time. Then I'll have to do something else. But for right now this sound is so low and loud, when you go under a bridge at 75 or 80 it pounds your chest. It's nuts.
