I have a 2002 FLSTS and I would like to put "true duals" on the bike. I did this with my 1992 FLHTC, but things have changed a bit since I did my 1992.
This is what I want:
- A true dual set up with a deep throaty sound. I know that the larger the diameter on the muffler, the throatier the sound.
I have not found anything yet I am satisfied with, so I am looking for help from you all.
Things I have considered:
1) Samson headers with KerKer mufflers (setup I did on my 1992).
2) Samson true dual setup, but the mufflers are 2 1/2" (or something like that).
I was looking at V&H mufflers too, but not sure if they will slip onto a Samson header. The easiest thing would be to buy a complete true dual set up from Samson (or others if they exist), but I don't know what...

Seems this would be simple. But simple I am. New risers are Custom Chrome 4" a slight pull back. They are chrome polished aluminum no knerling. Handlebars also chrome no knerling.
What do I put on the bars or clamps to grab so the bars do not pivot. They just will not tighten up?

Ive looked in my service manual and it doesnt say what gap I need in the points for my bike. Its hitting fine on the front cylender but the pipe doesnt heat up very fast on the rear one.so I dont beleave its hitting correct in the rear cylender. one thing to note on it is when I pull my plug wire 3/4 the way off it seems to start hitting (weered ) Yes I did replace the plug wire to see if that was the problem but it diddnt seem to make a difrance. I thought the points setting could be off. just looking for info or pointers on this. Thanks
