Youngsters Will Gruy and Tyler McDonald are doing well in their Daytona debuts. These kids are TMGP/CMRA racers. You may have heard the name McDonald if you were following AMA road racing in the mid 80s. His dad, Sam, was an AMA 250 class champion and Honda factory superbike rider. His grandpa was the N (Norm) in K&N, as in air filters. He sold his interest in K&N after he'd made his millions and bought a shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma, K&N Cycles.
Anyway, this kid Will has gotten FAST. Tyler ain't bad, either, and is improving. But Will really had the knack. He came up in TMGP and was in his first year in 2002 on a YSR, advanced to 125s where he finished second in the United States Grand Prix Racer's Union national GP series last season beaten by money, not talent. Kid that beat him...

The service manual for the 89 ultraclassic electraglide states the clutch spring plate is suppose to be concave .010 inch with clutch released. The adjusting plate has three position, one of which is marked C ("least compression"). The service manual goes on to read of the plate is concaved more that .010 inch go to the next least compression position. What if its on the least compression position and spring plate is dished greater than .010 inch? Is there an alternative to a new clutch??

I need to lower the bike about 1" for comfort and safety. My question is; has anyone installed the Touring Low Profile shocks that the dealer offers. I have not seen many after market altertaives to the HD versionm of this shock.
I am a little leary of using one of the lowering kits that uses the stock rear shocks and incorporates a milled/machined gizmo that drops the rear shock down and inch or so. I would be less hesitant to try this if most of my riding was not two-up-
Any insight would be appreciated-

yeah i was wondering if anyone had done much work on the older 4 speed transmissions. i have a 72 big twin and the shift linkage is not returning after i shift. i was wondering if this is fixable without pulling the transmission or primary and inner primary. if anyone has information on this subject it would be appreciated. thanks
