I ride a 1992 Electraglide Classic with a stock EVO. It has 70,000 miles on everything and has been well maintained. It's time to have the base gaskets done and I have planned a complete top overhaul while the cylingers are off.
Does anyone have thoughts on a reasonable conversion from a 5 speed to a 6 speed configuration? Boy, that was a change in speed unexpedily, huh?
I realize that this probably does not make sense because the stock 5 speed, I am told, will probably run 150,000 miles.......it probably will because it does not show any metal on the magnetic oil plug and the oil is always clean at the 5,000 mile oil changes. I just don't like the ole transmission because it whines in 4th gear..............been doing it for 40,000 miles, and it generally sounds like a coffee...

Hey all,
Whad up? I was wondering if a Stock Fatboy rim (2003) would fit on an FX front end (2005). I have a standard and am about to pick one up for a winter install.

They haven't sent me my instructions for posting articles, yet, but I'll be writing for them. There is to be a published magazine with this site. Not sure of any details, but I'll finally be a paid writer. Don't even have the details on that, LOL. This is sort of a revolt from the Thunder Roads Texas people, the head editor and all the writers associated with her. She also does a sendicated MC show, not sure where to find it, by the same name I believe.
Anyway, last I heard they were considering nation wide circulation, still have no details on the magazine. TRT was a regional magazine given out through bike shops. It's still around, we're just not associated with 'em anymore. I'm guessing, though, the new magazine will be...

With winter coming on and decent riding days fewer and farther between I'm think about putting a H-D/Screamin' Eagle big bore stage II kit on my '06 Softail myself.
I know, I know... "You'll void the warranty!" But I'm not worried about that.
Even though I've never been that deep into a Harley engine, I'm pretty confident in my mechanical skills to do this myself and I have a decent if not complete shop in my garage. I know there are some specialized tools I might need buy or borrow. Plus I'm already going to be taking the bike apart to put on chrome engine covers, braided ss clutch, throttle and idle cables, etc. I have all ready put on a SE stage 1 air cleaner, Rinehart staggered exhaust, and a PowerCommander IIIUSB with the appropriate program (no factory ECM upgrade...
