A good friend of mine lost her daughter two years ago to leukemia. Sasha was 7 years old at the time and just the cutest and most outgoing little girl you could ever meet. Her mom, Yuliya, is a Russian Jewish immigrant to this country, had gotten her citizenship not long before Sasha became ill. She studied English in Moscow, came here and entered law school and is now a corporate lawyer setting up multimillion dollar corporate mergers and such. How's that for a COMMIE?!
Yuli is active in road racing as well as rides on the street and is HOT in a set of leathers!
Anyway, there is to be a leukemia foundation event at Sam Houston Raceway Park. The following post was placed concerning the ride over there on the Houston Sportbike Network board. This this is going to be...

I thought this was sort of interesting. I am currently trying to sell a 1200XL Sportster in the local advertising magazine. I put my e-mail in so people could request pictures and so forth. I have been getting a ton of calls and e-mails from people who clearly aren't even interested in buying it. I've had three people offer me far less than what I'm asking without even seeing the bike. I have it listed at a pretty low price already so I can sell it quickly and I put "firm" in the ad. I told these folks that I would not consider any offers unless the bike is shown.
I got an e-mail from one guy and sent the pictures as requested. Then he sent an e-mail back saying the bike appears to be an 883 conversion.
HUH? How the hell could you tell from a photo whether it was a...

I would like to know why the red lights don't change for motorcycles? Every morning I pull up to the one red light that I have to stop at and wait for a few minutes, then drive through it to go on my way. The only time I have seen it change is when another car or truck pull up behind me. My FLTCI must be heavy enough to trip it? Does anyone know? I'd be more than happy to find out the reason I deal with this each day.

So, I just found out there's a flat track in Baytown Sunday. I'm going to load up the Mad Dawger and go. Old flat track pro, Butch Brandon, is promoting it. It's a quarter mile at Houston Raceway Park, but they're going to run a TT there! Now, I've never raced a TT. There's to be ONE jump. TT jumps aint' exactly motocross. They're easy, high speed jumps, not the big table tops you see in supercross. Flat track bikes tend to be set up like mine with really stiff suspension compared to the motocrossers.
I'm a little concerned about the effects of a jump on a kiddy bike (XR100) with stiff suspension (Works shock and LP forks set up for flat track) with a fat guy (205 lbs).
But, I'm quite looking forward to this. I then can say, "Yes, I've raced a TT!" I hope there...
