The air cleaner cover that I'm running (a HD replacement football shape) kept loosening up on me. The last time I was running about 90 on the Autobahn and felt something on my leg, I looked down and saw the cover trying to make a break for it. I managed to reach down and and grab it, I then stuffed it in my jacket. The special screw is long gone, so I will need to buy a complete new cover, the worst part is it put a chip in my paint job. I refuse to deal with that type of filter cover again. I've been looking at the Kuryakyn Twin Velocity and the Custom Chrome Siren air cleaner. I would also like to use the Kuryakyn Breather set-up. I would like to know if anyone has any info on any of these items, and if the breather set-up can be used with either of the filters I mentioned. I am not a...

Hi everyone. I am picking up a new Kawasaki vn2000 next week. I am 6'4" and the stock seat rises at the rear for lower back support. My rear end and that part of the seat seem to be fighting each other for the same spot! I really like the stock seats of the Suzuki c90 or the Yamaha Road Star 1700. They both do not have that few inches of rear back support.
The dealer said that I could have someone work on the seat foam to reduce the rear hump. Is this my only option?
Mustang and Corbin both make seats for the vn2000. They all look identical the stock seat. I contacted Corbin by phone. The rep. explained that the specifications are the same, but they use better padding. That's great, and my rear end will appreciate that benefit, but I want a flatter seat.

I have an Mikuni HRS42. the enrichener will not stay in the engaged position. I just pops back to closed when I pull the knob and let go.
I read where there is some kind of detente to keep it out. Where is it? Is there some kind of adjustment?

My buddy has a 1993 Heritage and wants to do some engine work over the winter. He isn't looking to really gain any power. He just wants to freshen it up a little. It's starting to blow smoke out the rear pipe and uses excessive oil. Otherwise it seems to run pretty good. He is disabled and doesn't have a ton of money. That's why we're going to do it ourselves.
I am thinking right now that we might be able to get away with just a new set of valves, pistons/rings and just honing the cylinders, unless of course we find some major scores in the cylinder walls or something. The bike already has a cam and stage I that was done around 1999, although I don't know the specs of the cam. Is there anything else we should consider mandatory while we're there? Like I said, the labor is free...
