Well, Spring is starting to arrive in Germany.... well sorta! We had lows this morning of 36 degrees, didn't seem to slow Shopguy down much (in fact, I would guess it speeded him up!) in arriving at Ramstein for a Poker run. By the end of the day, we had low 60's, sunshine, no major wind, and overall great riding weather. We had an almost 100 mile ride with 3 stops between start and finish (same place.....AAFES on Vogelweh). Went through the Johanniskeuz and Pirmasens area in a nice easy loop. GREAT ride!! Only sad part of the thing, Neither Shopguy or I won.....was an April Fools ride...low hand wins. Neither of us had high OR low hand..... Oh well. was still a nice ride! I am going to TRY to paste a picture in this, but no guarentee! If it works, Left to Right: Ron, Shopguy,...

Just put new V&H pipes on my 99 fatboy, now I'm re-jetting the cv carb.
I am confused about instructions that say to put three washers(for adjustment I assume) ABOVE the e-clip at the top of the jet needle?
Wouldn't the washers provide more adjustment UNDER the e-clip?
And the new needle has several grooves to choose from to set the e-clip,
grooves and washers? isn't that two ways to set the same needle?
Does anybody follow this?......I just don't get what good the washers do on TOP of the needle e-clip.

Well, we finally finished the testing we started out to do late last year. We received a set of the new Rienhart true duals with oygen sensor bung and some revisions. Rocky at Bub promised me I would be pleasantly surprised with the results.
We ended up testing the following combinations:
V&H true duals and oval mufflers
V&H true duals with Hooker mufflers
Rinehart new release true duals
Hooker full true dual system
The runs are shown in the same order
Dyno Run Results
Well, I was more than surprised at how well the new Rinehart's (green run) perform compared to the original design. The reversion dip is minimal and the torque...

Hey guys, new here, so be easy on me.
I have a 2000 softail standard with a 1550 cc motor, stock ignition. I was riding it two nights ago and it quit. Tried starting it, turned over, fired once, died, now to the point where it will only turn over, does not fire. I have cleaned the fuel filter and fuel line, removed the carb and cleaned it, checked the float and float needle, all is good. Good gas delivery from accelerator pump, too. Put in new spark plugs, and when testing, noticed the front cyl plug is firing weaker than the rear.
The dealership says I have to bring it in. I would rather not deal with them. I have narrowed it down to either a cam/crank sensor, ignition coil, or ECM. Is there any way to determine which it might be so I don't have to spend so much on...
