The stator recently went bad on my 2000 Ultra Classic. When I purchased a replacement stator at my local HD shop the parts guy said that the voltage regulator would go out soon. Has anyone had any experiences such as this??? I drove the bike until it quit with the bad stator.

I'm yanking out the chain drive TW55 cams in favor of gears because after 8K the outer tensioner is pitting and wearing pretty fast. Not sure which cam, if not the TW55G, would be the best way to go. The TW55 is a nice mid to upper range cam and works pretty well with my set up (95", 10:1 compression, head work, 45mm Mikuni, 3 stepped 2 into 2 pipes). But while I'm in there...I'd like to look at others as well to see if I can't find something that's comes on a little earlier. I have a short list and the dyno of the current set up that I can send. I'd post it, but the files are too large.
Thanks,

Just an FYI. I bought a Terry Components 1.6kw starter. It does not fit because the hot lead into the starter interferes with the magnetic pickup on the tranny. After scratching my head and uttering a few choice words i realized that my engine and tranny are offset 1" for the belt to clear the frame. That 1" is enough to cause the interference. I was told that I could install a sensor on the rear wheel but that was too much work. I returned the starter (lucky they took it back) in exchange for th 1.4 which is not as lengthy as the 1.6,

I recently saw a 1999 Fatboy that appeared to have a 88 CI motor (it had a 5 hole derby cover). I am in question as to whether the 1999 Fatboy came with an 88CI. My recollection is that the 88CI was not available until the 2000 model year. Could it be a late 1999?????
