I am trying to chase down a vibration problem in a 1993 Heritage Softail. It vibrates and shakes when you take your hands off the handlebars. The neck bearings seem fine and I was told the fork oil was already done by a "qualified" mechanic as well as a wheel bearing service and new front rubber less than 2000 miles ago. I am considering changing the oil again just to get it out of my head because I know just a slight difference in one side could make a big difference going down the road. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

On a 2002 Super Glide the shop manual doesn't show the use of a spring compression tool to remove the clutch like required on a Sportster. The shop manual talks about loctite and possibly heating the nuts or bolts to remove them. The dealer did not have the "special" tools to hold the flywheel or the crank to allow loosening of the retaining nuts. Can I simply put the bike in gear or jam a wedge of wood to oppose the loosening torque on the nuts?

I have a 2002 Super Glide on which the battery died. The shop manual isn't very much help on electrical troubleshooting neither are the mechanics at the dealerships here in Cincinnati. My question is can I unplug the plug between the regulator and the alternator and check the alternator side and expect to see 16 to 20 VDC? The book does state that the alternator should put out these readings but doesn't tell you how to check it. Maybe I need to check my Sportster manual it is considerably better. Thanks for any input.

I recently purchasd a 98 FXDL with 7800 miles. I am having trouble with the starter kicking out and grinding when I try to start it after the engine is warmed up? It works fine when the engine is cold. Could there be a misalignment problem after engine warm up and all parts have expanded or maybe a starter/flywheel gear problem. Would the Primary Chain cover need to be removed in order to access the starter/flywheel gear? I would appreciate the help.

I am currently building a CCI Goliath kit bike. The chrome rear shocks(adjustable) that came with the kit are a CCI no name brand with out
any specs. Has anyone had any experience with this shocks? Would it be worth the extra cash to upgrade to a better (known) shock such as the Progressive 413 series?
