I would like any suggestions or help concerning ideas on how to build a nice bike without spending serious money. For instance, where can someone find a used motor? Frame? etc. I have had numerous bikes in the past but due to increases in the family (Kids), simply going out and spending Harley level money is way out of the question.
This is a serious post and I would appreciate to hear anyones suggestions...
Thanks

my 01 fatboy had been sitting for a couple of weeks, when i went to start it , the motor turned over slowly, i charged the battery and tried to start the bike , but this time all i am getting is whinning noise from the starter just spinning, it appears that the pinnion gear is not extending far enough to contact the ring gear.all cables are in excellent condition and tight.tried jumping but got the same result. can my selenoid go bad suddenly, i pulled the back cover off and the contacts looks good. any sugestions before i remove the oil tank and primary cover prematurely, i do have a s.e big bore stage 2 kit with s.e 203 cams, and the starter does misengage and kicks back after a hard ride sometimes. appreciate any help thanks.

I'm looking for a true dual set for my Road King. Has anybody had any experience with the Hooker system? Any input on BUB, V&H, Samson, etc. would be appreciated.

I was currious when people are changing their oils. If you go by the HD manual,i believe the schedule says 1000,5000,10k miles.
This seems too long since these bikes are running hotter than a car.
I am running the HD syn oil in all areas and now at the 2000 mile mark on my '03 road king. The oil still looks pretty fresh.
PS- i once had a toyota sale person tell me they were getting 30k miles between oil changes.....yea,ok buddy-sure.
