Maybe a bro out there can solve a mystery for me. A few years back we were at Sturgis on the main drag (I think it was 1998). We walked past a store front where this wasted due was standing with about 30 piercings all over. The sign in the window said "Adult swimming lessons downstairs. Must be over 21". My 16 year-old son was with me, so I never got to check it out. I thougt I'd heard them all, but I have never heard of adult swimming lessons. Can somebody tell me, using phrases acceptable to a people-friendly site so as not to tick off CD, what the hell that is? By the way, if you do an on-line search of Photos- 1998 Sturgis Rally and look in the "general" category, you will see a shot of the wasted due and the actual sign in the window. Incidentally, my son still considers that the...

Noticed on my last trip that my cruise control disengages by itself--
EVERY time I hit a bump or road imperfection, but also without any other
apparent reason. Just had the local dealership install a new set of grips-could they have done something to cause this problem? Any ideas of where to look?

I have a 1998 Fatboy (stock) that initially cut out at highway speeds. It has progressed to having a racing ide (1000rpm to 1100rpm) and will die unless you goose the throttle. You can't ride it without the choke fully out, but it still cuts out. I cant even make it to the Interstate now
I tried cleaning the fuel filter, checked vacuum hoses, changed the vapor valve hose that had dry rotted, changed coil, plugs, wires, cleaned grounds, and verified the gas cap vented. I guess the fuel valve works because when i drained the tank you had to pull a vacuum to drain. I gave up and took it to the dealer and they did this.........
Changed the carb diaphram-did nothing. After returning it they changed the rear cylinder plug gap-did nothing.
Any help is appreciated!!!!!!!!

My first post and a long one-sorry! I have a 1998 Fatboy that is stock. The bike started cutting out while cruising on the Interstate intermitantly. I'd be going 70mph and it would cut out and wouldn't go above 50mph. Now it has a racing idle that jumps from 1000rpm to 1100rpm over-and-over. Choke has to be completely out and you have to goose the throttle from time to time or it dies.
Heres what I've done: New coil, plugs, wires, cleaned fuel filter, changed vapor valve hose that had dry rotted (new vapor valve on order), intake gaskets, cleaned grounds, and verified gas cap vents ok. None of this helped so I hated but had to bring it in to the dealer
Dealer had it twice and changed the carb diaphram-did nothing; second time he changed the gap in the rear cylinder plug-did nothing...
