Well, so, I was on my way up to Denton for a TMGP race weekend and stopped by Houston Forward Air terminal to pick up my new mad dog class flat tracker, a Frank Nye built stroker 150cc XR100 with 16s front and rear and Lindeman suspension (imho, the best on little bikes). The rear shock set up by Lindeman is a Works Performance remote reservoir. Now, the suspension on this thing is $700 worth, a good used XR of this late 90s vintage would be over a thousand, and the motor work would take around $2200 and the motor is fresh, so I figured $1500 for the bike was decent! Here's a pic in front of my house in the drive way.

So, I got it up to Denton an could hardly wait to fire it, dumped what was left of a can of VP C12 into it....

I posted this yesterday, but I think I did it wrong. Excuse the repeat if it comes out that way:
"I failed to emphasize the question about how much to drill out the baffles; 7/8" is what I heard someone say, (I think). Is there a recommended size??
And is there a recommended method (for 04 FXDLI & FLSTCI)

I just bought a 98 Ultra that has only 5,900 miles on it and seems to be in great shape. I have ridden it a few times by myself and everything seems to be fine. I had removed my lower farrings to do some cleaning so I replaced them, and my wife and I went for a ride of about 30 miles. Together we weigh about 400 pounds. After about 25 miles, I started getting some pinging when accelerating so I assume the bike was getting hot. The weather was/is hot; probably arund 90-95 while we were riding.
I am using all synthetic oil in all 3 chambers, and it has just been changed. Is there something I can do to prevent this pinging? Is this normal? Will removing the lower farrings in the summer make a difference? I have always ridden Goldwings before, so I know nothing about Harleys....

I have a stock 99 dyna glide and would like to install the 3 degree triple trees for a hotter look. I've also been told I could get the wide glide 3 degree triple trees. I also would like to drop the rear alittle and don't know if I should install the lowering shocks or buy the lowering brackets for my existing shocks.
Anyones info on this subject would be appricated
