Early last Sunday morning Tattoo Tony, me and two other guys decided we wanted to ride. Three of us were waiting at Tattoo's shop for him to show up. He calls in and says him and his girl friend broke down a couple miles away. So we all ride over there to give him what for and find out his generator gave up the ghost and his battery went dead. One of the guys rode him to the shop to get a spare battery so he could put it in his bike and ride it there for repairs.
After that we all ride to Tattoo's house to plan our next move, Tattoo and his girl friend riding two up on the other bikes. About half way there, my bike sputters to a stop. I check for fuel, look at the points and everything seems to be okay. I start it up and a couple miles down the road it dies again. Hmm . . . since I had...

Wild Ride in San Francisco!
652 hpFord. It's a Ford promo driven by one of the best drivers ever for this type of racing. I can't imagine what it cost for this commercial when you see how much of the city was shut down for this, all the cameras and the staging. Wow - fun to watch, however.

Saturday went up to visit folks, found some snow in the woods along the road on the way home June 1st! Got home and finally got out for a few hours ride. Left the Moncton area for Shediac, a waterside tourist area. The old Clipper Trans Atlantic flights before the Second World War used to land here to fuel up at times. Went up along the coast through some small villages, stopped for a pic of the old Irving logo, (Irving family had a large part in shaping much of province,)to Bouctouche, pretty little town with a big Catholic church. Well, big for its small popluation. Riding along the water was quite cold, turning inland through St. Antoine for the run home was much warmer. Nice relaxing day, way overdue.

I have been wanting to do something different with the Sportster as far as the engine goes for a little while now. Of course I haven't been able to decide on which way I want to go. At first it was to give it an 88 CI but that is pretty expensive and I am building a different engine from scratch so that is now out of the question.
I am now looking at just a cam swap (if there is such a thing), or installing 1.7 rockers, or advancing the cams that I have in conjuction with the 1.7 rocker ratio? I love where the power band is with my current .497 cams but I want more lift without changing my range too much. Opinions related to the options listed would be great. Thanks in advance.
