tell tale signs of a clutch that is going bad when the clutch isn't slipping?

Hello everybody, i bough a bandit gsf600 1998 from a guy that had a bike for a while but never rode it. I drove the bike for good 2 weeks with no problems, and yesterday i've started to have so issues. While i was riding it basically stalled on me 15 times whiting a mile. I would ride and give it a gas, at some point when you give it a gas it looses its power and dies, then its really hard to power bike back on. So i though maybe my carbs need to be cleaned. Took it apart and air cleaned everything (4 carbs). Put everything back together, couldnt start the bike at first but then it did start. Noticed a thing, when ever i have a choke open it doesnt bring RPM, only when you give it a gas, after closing a choke, RPMs dont drop and stay at 3-4k rpm. In the heat of the summer, would you wear full leathers on a trip? I am thinking that I may want to do this just for the added protection. Curious as to what you all have to say. Thanks.

does anyone know where i can buy a five speed tranny for my 73 1000 xlch sporster seen at jp cycles sells them for bigger bikes not the sportsters
