Got a mailer from my Reno HD dealer offering me a chance to win a couple bikes if I would just come in and test ride the Road & Street Glides. So I went in yesterday -what the heck, I figured, the worse that could happen is I get to wreck someone else's bike....but I didn't.
My '99 Road King has evolved to be my ride over the last 17 years, with Progressive (lower) shocks, Mustang seat, mini-ape bars, Bagger Brace on the frame. Back in '99 - the first year of the twin cam- there wasn't a bike that fit my 5'7'' frame, so I made it fit. Now they all do - and more. Crap. Heck, the Heritage is so low I was scrapping the footrest bracket just doing lazy figure 8's in the parking lot (to get the pre-highway feel of it).
I'd never ridden a full fairing bike with music going and all....

Floriduh in the news again
http://www.nbc-2.com/story/319...t-until-3-days-later
DELTONA, Fla. (AP) - A Florida man shot himself in the arm while cleaning a handgun, but didn't realize it until three days later when he finally changed shirts (nice hygiene you disgusting smelly freak) and found a bullet hole.
An arrest report(WTF? Who gets arrested for shooting themself?) says Volusia County Sheriff's deputies were called after 37-year-old Michael Blevins went to a hospital Saturday. Blevins told them he was cleaning a .22 caliber pistol on Thursday when he held it against his chest to keep his dog from jumping near it.

Are these engines any different in terms of top end disassembly than a Twin Cam? I may be changing some base gaskets on a friend's bike. Have never touched an Evo before. Thanks.

Now that I got my ride running sweet & strong, I want to get out for a long haul. I'm thinking to hit the highway mid June, taking a northerly track on the way out through Idaho, Wyoming (Yellowstone NP), South Dakota, Minnesota (visit JB & HR before they head out themselves)....then things get really flexible on the way to Maine (and maybe Cape Breton). I do hope to hit southern Ohio and eastern Colorado on the mosey back, but mostly I just be wandering after Maine.
Anyone got any suggestions?
